The Garden

The Garden is an ongoing, self initiated research project to investigate methods for reconnecting with the natural world; comprising of a series of four speculative architectural proposals conceived as a ‘theme park’, the ‘attractions’ include water towers for ‘rainmultiplication’, a giant sail for capturing and accelerating the wind, a 500m high storm viewing tower, and a solar etching screen. The aim of these objects is to initiate conversations around what architecture should be or could be or could do to connect us with the Kantian sublime.

The project was presented in 2011 in an exhibition with Designers Block. It was accompanied by a series of collages for contextualising the ‘buildings’ and a fictionalised technical specification/manual.

The collages were made by the wonderful Kirstin Tödtling
